Monitor your brand across ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity

Koalr runs the questions your buyers actually ask across seven AI engines, then shows which answers name your brand, which name a competitor instead, and which sources the engine used to decide. You get a visibility score per engine and the prompts behind it, refreshed on every scan.

How it works

Three steps, run on a schedule.

Not on the day somebody remembers to check. That is the whole difference between a spot check and a measurement.

  1. 01

    Ask what your buyers ask

25 real buyer prompts per scan, in the wording a customer would use, across all seven engines. Edit the set or add your own.

  2. 02

    Record who gets named

Every answer is parsed for brand mentions, the order they appear in, the sentiment attached, and the pages the engine cited.

  3. 03

    Work the gaps

Prompts where a competitor is named and you are not become a ranked action list, pointing at the source that decides the answer.

The questions behind the product

What teams ask before they start measuring.

Why doesn't ChatGPT mention my company?

Almost always because the engine cannot find enough evidence connecting your brand to the category, not because it has judged you and found you wanting. It assembles an answer from the sources it can retrieve. If those sources discuss your competitors and not you, the answer follows the sources.

That is a fixable problem, but only once you can see which prompts you are missing from and what the engine read instead. Guessing at it is the expensive part.

How do you see what AI says about your brand?

You ask it, in the words a buyer would use, and you keep asking. A single manual check tells you very little, because answers shift between sessions, accounts and locations. What you need is the same prompt set run repeatedly, on a schedule, with the results recorded so you can see a trend rather than a snapshot.

Doing that by hand across seven engines is a spreadsheet job that decays the week you stop. The method is worth understanding either way, and it is written up in our guide to choosing the questions worth watching.

Which competitors get named instead of you?

Koalr records every brand named in every answer, so the competitor view is a by-product of the monitoring rather than a separate exercise. For any prompt you can see who was named, in what order, and how the answer described them against how it described you.

The useful pattern is rarely uniform. A rival will own one engine and be invisible on another, usually because a single source that one engine trusts happens to name them. Finding that source is normally the shortest route to closing the gap.

What do you do once you know?

Start with the sources, not the score. Because most citations sit on pages you do not control, the fastest changes are usually off your own site: being present in the round-up, directory or thread an engine already reads for your category.

On your own site, the work is making existing pages quotable: a direct answer under every heading, real schema, and facts an engine can lift without rewriting. Our analysis of which pages AI engines cite covers how to find the off-site ones.

What a scan gives you back

Four numbers per prompt, each scored 0 to 100 and tracked run to run, plus the raw answers and the sources behind them.

MetricWhat it answers
Prompt Visibility RateHow often you appear at all, across every prompt and engine tracked.
Share of VoiceHow much of the answer space you hold against everyone else named.
SentimentWhether what the engine says about you is positive, neutral or negative.
Citation RateHow often the engine attributes an answer to a page on your site.

Two ways to do this

Checking by hand, or monitoring properly.

Manual checks are a legitimate way to start, and worth doing once so you know what the tool is automating. They stop being useful at about the point you need a trend.

Checking by hand

  • One prompt, one engine, one moment in time.
  • Answers shift between sessions and accounts, so two people get two answers and neither is wrong.
  • No history, so you cannot tell progress from noise.
  • Decays the week somebody stops updating the spreadsheet.

Monitoring with Koalr

  • 25 buyer prompts across seven engines, on a schedule.
  • Every mention, competitor and cited source recorded per run.
  • Scores tracked over time, so movement is visible.
  • Gaps arrive as a ranked list of what to fix first.

What the scoring is built on

We are pre-launch, so no borrowed logos and no invented quotes. These are product facts and numbers from our own citation dataset.

The engines disagree structurally rather than randomly, which is why watching one platform tells you about one platform. Koalr covers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, all seven on every plan.

Questions teams ask about monitoring.

Still wondering? Run your free scan.

Koalr runs a set of real buyer prompts across seven AI engines and records what comes back: whether your brand is named, which other brands are named alongside you, the sentiment of the description, and which web pages the engine cited as its sources. Every metric is scored 0 to 100 and tracked over time.
